2008 – the year to sing!

Do you feel good when you sing? I love singing. I love teaching singing. I love to sing, both onstage and in the shower!  I keep discovering new songs to fall in love with, to challenge me both vocally and emotionally. I love hearing my students improve and begin to sing with power and strength and confidence. 

Sometimes as I study and discover more about the voice, I get overwhelmed at how much there is to learn about this most amazing of instruments. Then, I just put it all down and sing through an old favourite, or a new song with a melody that captures my heart. And what happens? I go somewhere else. My heart lifts. My body creates a sound that makes me glad I worked so hard to become proficient, and I am inspired to continue to work on my instrument, my voice. No-one else has a voice which is like mine. It is like my fingerprints – my own unique sound which allows me to express what sometimes cannot be said in any other way.
