Because everyone has a voice.

What stops you from singing?

Am I happy because I sing, or do I sing because I am happy? The age old question!   I love singing and I love teaching singing. Sometimes we have always longed to sing, but are afraid to even try. If you have even a little germ of an idea that you would like to sing, but have been told you can’t, it will stop you even trying. Even when you are paying for a lesson and extremely determined. EVERYONE is allowed to sing. EVERYONE can sing. Some us sing well, others sing, hmm, not so well, which is painful to everyone else, but it MAKES US HAPPY!

I teach a wonderful woman who just wanted to sing, and felt brave enough to come to lessons and try it out. She is a lovely lady, having no pretensions to wanting to be the best singer in the world, just to improve. She is gradually improving, as she discovers she is ALLOWED to sing out. When she stops holding her voice back, it becomes more tuneful and has better tone. She is a joy to teach. It has taken a while to get to a place of trusting me enough to sing in front of me – but she is doing it! She has had people telling her she can’t sing, she believed them and so she couldn’t. I tell her she can, because my trained ears can hear improvements. And now she can!

Is fear stopping you from singing? Don’t let fear stop you from one of life’s great joys. After all, the voice is the only instrument God made,so it CAN”T be all that bad!!!
